Bimont dam was inaugurated in 1952  near the city of Saint Marc-Jaumegar in the Sainte Victoire mountain mass, close to Aix en Provence.
Designed and built between 1946 and 1951 by engineer Joseph Rigaud .
This double curve vault dam is 287 feet tall and 590 feet large at its crest. Its 15 blocks are 57 feet thick at the bottom and 14 feet at the crest, reaching a total volume of 492 125 cubic feet of concrete.
