A few miles from Aber Wrac'h lies Lilia village, inside Plouguerneau city limits.
Facing this torn, winds and waves beaten coastline stands the Ile Vierge.
In mid 15th century, Observance brethren built a convent on the Island and stayed there about sixty years before moving to the Abbaye des Anges in Aber Wrac'h.
Island was most likely named after a chapel dedicated to Virgin Mary was built there.
Built from 1896 to 1902 and topping at 271 feet this is the world highest cut stone made lighthouse.
